A Find … Brentwood Country Mart

One block away from San Vicente, in the middle of Brentwood, there is literally a FIND! When passing through the mall by car you don’t get attracted by the red old style country building. But once you park your car and walk inside the tiny corridors of the mall, you can be surprise and excited about this cute, charming little place.

The Brentwood Country Martis a mall on 26th street, almost in the corner with San Vicente. The place is contemplated with a few cute high end stores and a small dining area where you can pick up your food (they have from ice cream and caffe to burgers and tacos) and enjoy dining with your family or friends in the seating area at the patio.

It also has an adorable bookstore that you will probably love to spend some time finding
some books, reading summaries and getting inside the fiction world (I would!).

And (in my opinion) what is the main attraction of the mall is the charming Farmshop – a straightforward breakfast/lunch/dinner restaurant-cum-market (how they call themselves). The market has a delicatessen style and offers high quality food from pastries, pastas and vegetables to salads, meats, seafood and delicious sweets. What is fascinating about this place is that the heads in charge of  the Farmshop are involved with some of the most respected fine-dining establishments in the world: The chef-owner Jeff Cerciello  is also Culinary Director for Bouchon, Bouchon Bakery and Ad Hoc; French Laundry; El Bulli  and the Restaurant Director ,Michel Darmon , is also responsible for Encantado Resort in Santa Fe; Bouchon; Bouchon Bakery; Ad Hoc; Per Se; Guy Savoy.

I didn’t have any meal there, but I can’t wait to have it. If you are planning to visit the Brentwood Country Mart this weekend I will see you there. If you don’t find me  seated in the bookstore with all books I can handle in my lap, I would probably be trying to find the best food at the Farmshop. Have fun!
