If you live in Los Angeles and haven’t checked the marvelous Melrose Trading Post, you’re behind. Really. And if you are in town don’t forget to visit it and explore all the astonishment of this place. You could call it a music and fashion mash-up, combining it with good food, stylish people and friendly vendors. I would call it a one of a kind Coachella shopping fair, if that existed.
Every Sunday, from 9 to 5, rain or shine: new expositors, food stands, and good music happen at the parking lot of the Fairfax high school, located on corner of Fairfax and Melrose ave. The entrance is only $2, not bad for anyone’s pocket, right?
I guarantee every single time you go there, different people will call your attention by the eccentric way they dress or simply act. Not to mention the great deals you can find at the market: books, mirrors, clothing, jewelry, frames, pictures and even furniture. There hasn’t been one time i’ve been there that i left without bringing a new silver ring or a mirror, most of the times from the 60’s or 70’s.
Hungry? You can’t miss the argentinian
empanadas, found on the food court,
followed by a Nutella crepe, while
listening to a good band of Jazz.
Most of the vendors take only cash, a
few of them take credit cards, but don’t
you worry. They have ATM machines
spread all over.
Hope you visit the flea market soon,
to enjoy the experience, doing some
shopping or just for fun. Big chances
are you’re gonna see me there 🙂
Eeeee 🙂
How come I've never been there??? Wish I knew about this before!!! The Pasadena Flea market (every 2nd Sunday of the month at the Rose Bowl- Pasadena) is also pretty cool, same style of this one and it's HUGE! You can easily spend the whole day there digging records and old magazines, buying cute frames and pictures and people watching…. I even bought sheets for my bed there (not second handed haha), they have a lot of interest things to look at. Just thought it would be nice to share that with other flea market lovers like me… Good post!!!
Quero muito ir la. Tinha me esquecido do que acontece em Pasadena. Boa dica Livia, adorei, thanks por compartilhar. Beijao
